Senior Manager Supply Chain

Your role:

As Senior Manager Supply Chain you will lead a team that provides meaningful data and analysis in forecasting, capacity, long range planning and network optimization that helps maximize margin and drive network optimization for Ardent Mills.  You will be responsible for the use of algorithms, analytics, historical performance, and customer insights to drive accuracy in the Forecasting and Demand Planning process.

Your responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Leadership-
    • Work independently with guidance to solve complex problems with technical solutions. 
    • Lead a team of 2-4 direct reports. Provide tactical support for daily execution of the team and identify growth areas to expand team members skills. 
    • Use influence in the larger business to positively impact results.
    • Understand external factors and their bearing on the total Ardent Mills business (ie. USDA report)
  • Analytics
    • Champion Continuous Improvement efforts and be relentlessly curious to push for simplicity, innovation, and automation informed by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Lead the development of dashboards, scorecards and reports that drive insights
    • Leader for the TnL annual budget process
  • Forecasting/Demand Planning
    • Utilize inputs such as AOP, Unconstrained Sales Forecast, historical performance and forecast algorithms output to develop a demand plan that brings insights and stability to our mill network production plan.
    • Develop best in class processes to work alongside Sales to improve customer forecasting inputs
    • Develop and analyze capacity utilization, runtime and demand planning views
  • Network Optimization
    • Takes a broad perspective and leverage technology to drive insights and priorities which guide the capital planning and long-term logistics planning approach.
    • Work with a cross functional team to drive supply optimization by identifying and executing least cost / maximum profitability distribution strategies informed by modeling tools. 
    • Ensure development and implementation of the strategic pricing and network optimization data, analytics and process
    • Support development of margin strategies at macro and micro level in-line with business strategy. This involves helping to evaluate the Annual Operating Plan against market indicators, business strategy, internal variables & open opportunities
  • Sales Enablement –
    • Work closely with Pricing, Logistics, Sales, Tech Services and Operations to determine optimal approach /source for customer demand.
    • Support internal/external capacity utilization inputs and reports
    • Freight optimization and support for customer negotiations

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 6 years supply chain, operations, sales or grain risk/merchandising experience. 8-10 years preferred.
  • Exceptional technical skills, ability to pull/analyze data from multiple systems with an emphasis on Excel and PowerBI
  • Self-starter with a high degree of energy and passion; ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize
  • Tolerance and appetite for ambiguity and risk; ability to make tough decisions with less than perfect information
  • Collegial/collaborative style; demonstrated ability to work closely with others to conceptualize, test, and implement new ideas using change management proven approaches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coach and develop both individuals and teams
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations with grace while educating and creating bridges that build the partnership with customers

Good to have:

  • Deep understanding of customer market behavior and the capabilities of Ardent Mills plants
  • Deep Customer insight- Understanding of Customer economics, value drivers, and decision drivers
  • Microsoft GP/365, SQL and/or Salesforce
  • Forecasting and/or modeling management software experience
  • 3-5 yrs experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Firm grasp of critical technical skills, chiefly risk management, network optimization techniques and product/service pricing

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $118,000.00 - $157,489.20, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 15% Annual.
