The Warehouse Utility position is the first step in learning to operate all the packing equipment independently. This position is key in promoting safety, quality, efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and helping achieve the company’s budgeted goals and objectives. To succeed, you must be able to:

The Utility Operator will normally work from Monday to Friday. Weekend work may be required during peak periods. Irregular shift schedule will be required as utility will backfill a variety of positions
Your responsibilities:
Have a conscious commitment to “Safety in the Workplace” for themselves and their co-workers.
Be aware of who the safety representatives are and report all hazards or potential hazards.
Must possess excellent housekeeping habits keeping the assigned work area clean at all times and ensure that assigned HACCP and GHP requirements are monitored, documented and deficiencies noted and reported.
Be knowledgeable of or willing to learn basic AIB food safety / sanitation requirements and accurately maintain sanitation documentation.
Rework finished products, ingredients and feed through the feed in / exchange system. Includes handling, cutting, dumping and documenting all feed in.
Must become cross-trained in a minimum of two other classifications in order to relieve for holidays, vacations and other production staffing needs within the Warehouse department. When relieving the regular operator, must be able to perform all the job duties of the position at the level of the regular operator.
Possess excellent communication skills.
Be committed to service excellence and therefore pay special attention to complying with all policies in regard to Personnel Safety, Food Safety, Sterile Zone and others.
Be committed to producing a quality product when relieving other operators and following GMP and HACCP This includes paying special attention to seals, weights, date codes and any other Food Safety requirements.
Must become qualified to drive forklift safely and effectively. This includes ability to stack pallets, load trailers and be committed to quality of the finished product and pallet appearance.
Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Essential skills and experience:
Possess a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license. An attestation from the company doctor indicating visual acuity and physical ability to drive a motor vehicle may be substituted for a driver’s license.

High School degree or equivalent
Possess excellent communication skills: ability to effectively communicate with Plant Management, Facility Lead, and Warehouse Blender.

Good to have:
Basic mechanical experience, the job will require mechanical adjustments and know how.
Be a quick learner that can operate independently quickly after initial training
Demonstrate the ability to resolve personnel conflict.
Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs multiple times every day, lift 30KG regularly, kneel, and crawl.
May be required to become qualified to drive forklift safely and effectively
Work in an environment that is not temperature controlled.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e., safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
Dusty environment (Medical certification for respiratory protection may be required)
Noisy environment
Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes
Elevated places, to include stairs/ladders
Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
